AOC Languedoc Pézenas Rouge

"La Reserve" reflects the elegance and unique personality of the Pezenas terroir. Its enticing aromas of ripe berries, cocoa, leather and spice give way to red fruit, cassis and a touch of earth, supported by smooth silky tannins. To appreciate its rich complexity and delicate finish, it is best to decant this wine before serving.

Grapes : 50% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache Noir, 25% Carignan

Winemaking Technique

Soil Type : River gravel on a red loam subsoil; extremely well-drained
Age of vines : Average of 20 years
Fermentation : Block selection and tasting of berries before mechanical harvest with totally destemmed grapes. Four week maceration for a optimal extraction of aromas and tannins. Malolactic fermentation at 100%.
Ageing : 100% of the blend during 18 months in French oak (50% new oak)
